Paranoia
This may seem odd to some, but hits home for many of us. After watching many scary movies that have the very famous "person hiding in the shower", people feel the need to check behind a closed shower curtain before they begin their bathroom business. Having a bullying sibling or immature roommate that decides to scare you by jumping out behind the shower curtain also reinforces the fear. I know that myself and many of my friends are guilty of this paranoia when we are anywhere but our own house. And now that you have seen this you may feel that the one and only time you don't look, someone will surprise you.
